How long have you and your band been writing, recording and gigging in the pursuit of 'making it'?
Have you ever considered taking a break to re-imagine your sound, image...perhaps even genre?
Shropshire rock and soul band Rainbreakers saw a fair amount of success, including an album, EP releases, a European tour, large festival performances and building a dedicated international fan base.
So, with a band which was steadily growing in popularity, what was the driving force for change?
The Salopian Mixtape caught up with frontman Ben Edwards to find out more...
The pandemic caused so much disruption for gigging musicians, did it make for an ideal time to look inward and reassess? It seems so!
Acrobvt have released their first single Neon, which demonstrates a much more electronic and indie-pop side to this four-piece band. Lead singer Ben has clearly taken this rebrand as an opportunity to show his vocal versatility, demonstrating a wider vocal range in the unique tone that fans will know and love.
If you were a fan of Rainbreakers, then you're probably a fan of bold guitar riffs and a bass line to shake your bones...don't worry, they are still there, just a little deeper in mix alongside a fresher, brighter sound. If that doesn't get you excited...when we spoke to Ben, he alluded to more amazing music to come from Acrobvt and we can't wait!
It is a bold move to completely mix up a formula that's been working for you, but in an ever changing music industry and evolving sound palette, should music makers be 'moving with the times' if they want to do more with their music? We are sure there are arguments on both sides, but it's clear to us, if you're feeling musically 'stuck in a rut' then it must be worth mixing things up.
Let's face it, life if too short not to get out there and follow your ambitions. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Acrobvt and have no doubt that this step has been a risk worth taking.
Have you considered making a change to your band or your writing? Perhaps this has inspired you to take some creative changes?
